The only problem with having a shop full of beautiful things???... not keeping everthing!

Its a major problem, being surrounded by all these beautiful objects in the shop all day...
sometimes the temptation just gets all to much!

Every now and again it happens, I just have to bring something home with me,
and this time it was a gorgeous french inspired mirror.

I had the perfect spot for it, with a beautiful duck egg blue
Laura Ashley wallpaper back drop
and a pretty original
Victorian fireplace below I knew it would look just perfect.

I hope you'll agree that it looks pretty good,
I do have another one the same for sale in the shop,
and at a mere £75 I think its quite a good buy!...
How could you resist!!!xxx

P.S Soz for disappearing for so long again, I have had a hard time over the last few weeks and have been supporting a friend through a really difficult time, it is to personal to be posting about it on line,
I hope you'll all understand.
I'm hoping I really am back for good now! I Hope you have all been well, I have missed you all!!!x

Hi
The mirror really is beautiful. Its the first time ive come across your blog but really enjoyed reading it. I too enjoy looking on ebay for bargains and 'special' items. Your shop is also lovely and it's what my future aim is. Any tips you have on opening a similar venture would be welcomed. Tracy x

P.S - I own a curtain shop and its pretty hard to resist the temptation to bring home lots of new cushions, or keep changing my curtains every few weeks!

Good to see you back - friendships are very important and I am sure your kindness has been a great help.

If I owned a
shop I would have no shop after a week! Too many carrots!
Take care

My husband is a custom cabinetmaker so I can relate to not keeping the beautiful things...I think he has made 2 things in 10 years that I wouldn't want to keep. And those are very modern, contemporary design...I find one of them in particular just plain ugly...but the designer/homeowner adores it...and that is what is important. I wish I could have figured out a way to keep the wine cellar...but since we only have a crawlspace......

Hi Jennifer, very nice blog. I´m writing from Germany and I have also a small shop, where I sell home decoration. I know the problem: being surrounded with those beautiful things & to be strong enough not to take them all to your home. Your shop looks very beautiful, nice colours und fantastic design. Good luck, will visit you again, Ute

I never knew you were missing because I just found you and I love what I found. I owned a shop too and alot of things came home.
So I am always glad to hear that I wasn't the only shopkeep with that problem.

Hi Jennie
Great to meet you at the 'Flea' today'... what a great display you had.. could'nt resist the little stools, I have an unhealthy obsession for stools I'm affraid.
Your shop looks like a treasure trove too, I know what you mean about taking things home with you as I had shops up until about 6 years ago & they were very similar to your shop in Minehead. Gave it up to concentrate on other things though but I do miss the window dressing.
