The only problem with having a shop full of beautiful things???... not keeping everthing!

Its a major problem, being surrounded by all these beautiful objects in the shop all day...
sometimes the temptation just gets all to much!

Every now and again it happens, I just have to bring something home with me,
and this time it was a gorgeous french inspired mirror.

I had the perfect spot for it, with a beautiful duck egg blue
Laura Ashley wallpaper back drop
and a pretty original
Victorian fireplace below I knew it would look just perfect.

I hope you'll agree that it looks pretty good,
I do have another one the same for sale in the shop,
and at a mere £75 I think its quite a good buy!...
How could you resist!!!xxx

P.S Soz for disappearing for so long again, I have had a hard time over the last few weeks and have been supporting a friend through a really difficult time, it is to personal to be posting about it on line,
I hope you'll all understand.
I'm hoping I really am back for good now! I Hope you have all been well, I have missed you all!!!x

Has it really been that long????!...

Hello All!
I cant belive how long its been since I last did a post! Thankyou to all who have sent emails regarding my whereabouts (its very nice to know I have been missed!!)

Well, all I can say is that the last couple of months have been a little busy to say the least, I wont go into detail but lots of things have happened, some good, some bad, but hopefully all is back to somekind of normality now so I should be back on form and begin to blog more frequently.
.......I thought, seems as its been so long you might like to see some recent pics of the shop,
I had been thinking for a while that I ought to spend some time (and money) on the look of the shop, there were several things I had meant to do when I first took the shop on, but I was so desperate to open that I put certain things on hold.
I decided that the time had come to do these things, so we closed the shop for a week so Clive and I could work like crazy to get things done and have it re-opened a week later.
We had the floor sanded so the whole place seems brighter and lighter, we have painted all the walls in a gorgeous Laura Ashley chalk pink which beautifully compliments the new ranges of french inspired furniture that Im now selling, and Clive built me a fabulous new counter which he covered in a beautiful wallpaper...Anyway, enough talking about it here are the pics so you can see for yourself!

I hope you all like it, its been hard work but Im sure it was worth it.
The next job is to re-decorate what was the store room out the back of the shop, its a tiny space but Im hoping to use it as a (small) studio for my interior design. We've just had the floor redone, its been re-plastered and we have had some beautiful french doors put on which allows the light to pour in. Im itching to get out there and give it a transformation from dingy (and a little damp) storage space to a bright, airey and inspirational work space.

Better late than never...

I hope you'll all forgive me as I'm running a little behind with the post that I was going to do over Easter...But I thought that you would of all liked to see the Easter window that I did in the shop, even though its probably a little over due!..Hence the 'better late than never'!!

I have had a great time in the shop since Easter, there has been a constant flow of customers, it has given me back my enthusiasm and people have been so nice, making lovely comments about the way it looks and how much they love everything, it has given me a well needed push and confidence boost to start putting in a bit more effort (I always become a little sluggish over the winter months).
I have been working non stop trying to keep the shop well stocked and looking pretty, so please do excuse my absence as I don't seem to of had a chance to get to the computer!
I'm positive this absolutely gorgeous weather we seem to be having has had a huge effect on everyone, it seemed to turn into spring over night, I hope your enjoying it as much as I am!!
I hope to get the chance to have a catch up with some of your blogs over the next few days, thank you so much for all the lovely comments you made about my new chest of drawers, I have been feeling incredibly smug!

well girls, I'm going to have to go...I'm afraid this post is going to be short and sweet, lots of things to do....I hope you are all well and happy, I'll leave you with some pics of the 'Easter' shop window.

With love and hugs...Jennifer xxxx

I love E-bay...

The other night though I thought I'd have a nosy on eBay to see if they had a little table that I could use in my bedroom and some how I stumbled across the most gorgeous chest of drawers, of course I thought its bound to be miles away in Scotland or something as it was a 'pick up only' item but to my delight it was only a short drive away in Exeter, I decided to have a bid, and hooray! I won it!!

Well, its way to big for the bedroom so it is now standing very proudly in my sitting room. The room has needed a substantial piece of furniture for a while (other things just seemed to look a bit lost) and this chest of drawers is just perfect.

I also had another treat this week, and that was the arrival of my long awaited (since December may I add!) Laura Ashley butterfly jug. It sits perfectly on my chest of drawers and with a bunch of daffodils it certainly brightens up these miserable days were having!

So I am back to being an obsessive eBay fan, constantly looking to try and find another fabulous item at a bargain price...I'm sure I'm not the only one like this?...Am I??? xxx
